Human Resources Officer

About the role

A growing People & Culture team within the Southern African operations of an international project delivery company is looking for a Human Resources Officer. The role provides administrative support and operational guidance across the full employee lifecycle, working with internal teams and external stakeholders. It is a 9-month fixed term contract based in Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

• Talent acquisition support: internal and external job postings, interview scheduling, reference checks and applicant correspondence
• Onboarding management: contracts, onboarding documentation, compliance and inductions
• Off-boarding compliance, including exit interviews and collection of company property
• Maintain up-to-date employee records in HRIS and platforms
• Support global mobility compliance for international placements and assignments
• Collate data and documentation for business development, management and operational reporting
• Assist with Skills Development and Employment Equity / Affirmative Action planning, implementation and reporting
• Work with the global People & Culture group and perform general administration and ad-hoc HR duties

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or an equivalent from a recognised institution
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in a People / HR role in related industries
• South African citizenship or permanent residency
• Based in Cape Town
• Proven experience with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word and Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication, teamwork and autonomy, with strict confidentiality and professional ethics
• Desirable: proven HRIS experience
