Human Resources Business Partner – Midrand

About the role

Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to provide strategic People and Culture partnership across assigned functions. You will act as a trusted advisor to line managers, driving high‑performance culture, workforce readiness and alignment with Dis‑Chem’s people strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic HR partner, translating business needs into people plans that support operational delivery and compliance.
• Manage employee relations, disciplinary, grievance and counselling matters in line with SA labour legislation and Dis‑Chem policies.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition to forecast staffing needs, support hiring decisions and ensure smooth onboarding.
• Facilitate performance management processes, coaching managers on reviews, development plans and retention.
• Collaborate with Learning & Development to coordinate functional, technical and leadership training for staff.

Required profile

• Grade 12 / Matric and a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
• 4–6 years of HR generalist or HRBP experience, preferably in retail, logistics or healthcare.
• Exposure to transformation, skills development and equity legislation (EE, BBBEE, SD).
• Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and HR compliance.
• Honours degree or knowledge of HRIS systems is an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with HRIS platforms such as SAP, Oracle or SuccessFactors.
