HR & Legal Officer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR & Legal Officer to join TJ Group. This dual‑role position ensures that our human resources practices are efficient, equitable, and fully compliant with Lesotho’s labor laws and corporate regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the full employee lifecycle: recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and off‑boarding.
• Collaborate with department heads to define job descriptions and attract top talent.
• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies aligned with company goals and national labor legislation.
• Administer benefits, compensation, payroll, attendance, leave tracking, and staff rotation schedules.
• Handle employee relations, grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution with discretion.
• Act as the primary legal contact for employment‑related matters and ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws.
• Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, service agreements, and other legal documents.
• Provide legal advice on risk mitigation, corporate governance, and policy adjustments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of progressive experience in HR or legal roles within a corporate environment.
• Deep knowledge of HR best practices and Lesotho labor legislation.
• Proven experience in contract drafting and review.

Required skills

• Proficiency with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite.
