Permanent Secretary – Ministry of Public Service

About the role

The Ministry of Public Service is seeking a Permanent Secretary to provide strategic guidance and supervision for the implementation of its Strategic Plan, aligning with national development priorities. This senior leadership position reports directly to the Government Secretary and works closely with the Minister.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of the Ministry’s Strategic Plan.
• Provide oversight and direction to ensure alignment with national development goals.
• Coordinate with the Minister and Government Secretary on policy and operational matters.
• Supervise departmental activities and promote effective public service management.

Required profile

• Master’s Degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Social Sciences or a related field, or equivalent postgraduate diploma/honours degree, or Bachelor’s degree in the same fields.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience for Master’s holders, seven (7) years for postgraduate diploma/honours holders, or ten (10) years for Bachelor’s holders.
• Experience in public service management is an added advantage.
