Hospitality Assistant for Interior Design Firm

About the role

The interior design firm based in Cape Town seeks a highly organised Hospitality Assistant to maintain a clean, welcoming office environment and provide day‑to‑day hospitality, kitchen and general support to staff, clients and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a consistently clean, hygienic and presentable office, including reception, meeting rooms, restrooms, kitchen and common areas.
• Prepare and serve coffee, tea and other beverages; keep beverage stations stocked and equipment clean.
• Prepare the Principal’s lunch daily according to preferences, manage kitchen supplies and ensure food safety.
• Clean, load and unload dishware, keep kitchen counters and appliances hygienic, and monitor stock levels.
• Monitor and replenish office, kitchen, cleaning and restroom supplies, checking expiry dates and reporting shortages.
• Maintain indoor plants, tidy the entrance area, manage waste and recycling, and reset meeting spaces as required.
• Establish and follow a daily cleaning and hospitality routine, conduct regular checks and end‑of‑day inspections.
• Communicate needs and issues to the Operations Manager, report maintenance problems promptly and uphold confidentiality.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in hospitality, office assistance, hotel or high‑end service environments.
• Extremely neat, detail‑oriented and proactive, able to anticipate tasks without constant supervision.
• Polished, professional and friendly when interacting with clients, staff and visitors.
• Discreet, trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality.
• Reliable, punctual and capable of working independently while following a routine.
• Strong awareness of hygiene, food preparation and kitchen standards.
• Willingness to assist with changing requirements, meetings, guests and additional hospitality duties.
