History & Geography Teacher – Senior Phase (Ruimsig Secondary)

About the role

Nova Pioneer seeks an exceptional History and Geography Teacher to join the Senior Phase team at Ruimsig Secondary starting in 2027. As a resident teacher you will lead instruction, plan rigorous enquiry‑based lessons and mentor apprentice teachers.

Key responsibilities

• Design rigorous, enquiry‑based lesson plans aligned with level exams.
• Deliver engaging lessons supported by technology to enhance learning.
• Observe, coach and model best practice for new teachers.
• Set ambitious goals, provide feedback and track student progress.
• Use assessment data to adjust instructional content and techniques.
• Participate in weekly feedback meetings, professional development and team reflections.
• Communicate regularly with parents via email, phone and conferences.
• Contribute to co‑curricular activities and fulfil supervision duties as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with History or Geography major or a PGCE (required).
• SACE registration and 2–3 years of History teaching experience.
• Ability to lead a classroom independently and use technology for instruction.
• Passion for enquiry‑based, student‑centred learning.
• Strong understanding of the age group taught and ability to connect with students.
• Team player who enjoys collaborative problem solving.
• Proficiency in English is an added advantage.
• Genuine love for teaching and commitment to each student’s success.
