Handyman – Maintenance Support for Residential & Commercial Properties

About the role

A well‑established company in Edenvale is seeking a reliable, knowledgeable Handyman to support maintenance operations across a portfolio of residential, commercial and industrial properties. The role involves routine inspections, prompt repairs and ensuring all sites remain safe, clean and presentable.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct routine preventative maintenance inspections and resolve issues before they escalate.
• Attend to maintenance requests promptly and efficiently.
• Maintain properties in a safe, clean and presentable condition at all times.
• Carry out work safely in line with company standards and procedures.
• Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean, organised and in good working condition.
• Take responsibility for issued tools and equipment, ensuring proper use and safekeeping.
• Use materials and products efficiently according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Provide feedback on recurring maintenance issues and potential upgrades.
• Engage professionally with tenants, clients and team members.
• Protect tenants’ furniture, fittings and belongings while work is being carried out.
• Ensure thorough cleaning during and after completion of work.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar maintenance role.
• Sound knowledge of general repairs within residential, commercial and industrial environments.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting materials and working at heights when required.
• Valid driver’s licence with extensive driving experience.
• SAPS Clearance Certificate (advantageous or required where applicable).
