GRAP AFS Preparation Consultant (2‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a GRAP AFS Preparation Consultant for a two‑month contract to support accurate financial reporting and compliance for multiple public‑sector clients. The consultant will work closely with audit teams and provide on‑the‑job training to client staff.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all transactions comply with mSCOA, GRAP and MFMA regulations.
• Compile and maintain working papers for internal and external audits.
• Prepare working papers for financial statements.
• Deliver on‑the‑job training to client personnel.
• Participate in additional accounting and data‑related projects as required.
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously.

Required profile

• B.Com Accounting (or equivalent) with completed SAICA articles, preferably in the public sector.
• Solid experience in financial accounting, AGSA audits and AFS preparation.
• Strong understanding of mSCOA and related public finance legislation.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment.
• Willingness to travel; own car and laptop preferred.
