About the role
Transnet company is hiring permanent general workers and cleaners for its Durban terminal. The role focuses on opening and closing twist locks on container wagons and performing a variety of cleaning and ad‑hoc duties throughout the facility.
Key responsibilities
- Open and close twist locks of container wagons.
- Clean buildings, containers and other terminal areas.
- Perform office and security related tasks as needed.
- Assist drivers, electrical engineering and boilermaker teams.
- Operate machinery and support safety officer activities.
Required profile
- Grade 10 or Level 2 education.
- Physically fit and able to handle manual labour.
- Strong time‑management and decision‑making abilities.
- Good reading, writing and communication skills.
- People‑oriented, safety‑conscious and culturally aware.
Required skills
- Cleaning procedures / techniques.
- Twist lock operation.
