Full Time Online English Teacher

About the role

EF Education First is looking for a permanent full‑time online English teacher who will work from its Hyde Park office in Johannesburg. You will receive extensive training on EF’s online classroom platform and ongoing professional development while teaching adult learners from more than 120 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 40‑ to 45‑minute conversation‑based group and private online lessons for adult learners.
• Provide after‑class reports detailing each student’s progress and recommendations.
• Attend mandatory training sessions to stay up‑to‑date with EF’s teaching methodology.
• With experience, design and deliver custom lesson materials.

Required profile

• South African residency with a valid ID document.
• C2‑level English proficiency with a neutral accent.
• Completed Bachelor’s degree (mandatory).
• TEFL qualification preferred.
• Highly computer literate and able to work from the Johannesburg office.
• Professional, energetic and enthusiastic about interacting with people.
• Previous teaching experience is a plus but not required; other work experience is acceptable.
• Smartphone required for daily sign‑ins.
