Full-Stack PHP Backend Developer

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Full-Stack Backend Developer with strong PHP expertise to join our development team in Centurion. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining scalable backend services while also supporting front-end integration when needed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain web applications using PHP and modern frameworks.
• Design, implement and optimise RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Work with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) to model, query and optimise data structures.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate UI components and ensure seamless user experiences.
• Write clean, secure, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews and technical planning.
• Debug, troubleshoot performance issues and enforce security standards.
• Maintain version control (Git) and contribute to documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field.
• Proven experience as a PHP developer with full-stack exposure.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and MVC architecture.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure while maintaining high code quality.
