French Speaking Senior Compliance Research Specialist (Fintech/Payments)

About the role

Our client, a Cape Town‑based shared services hub for financial services and fintech firms, is seeking a French‑speaking Senior Compliance Research Specialist. You will ensure that cross‑border payment solutions meet global regulatory standards while supporting the broader compliance team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Transaction Vetting with daily assignments and meetings.
• Monitor B2B and B2P payments, invoices, and contract payments for suspicious activity.
• Perform entity and person checks using platforms such as ComplyAdvantage, Orbis, Panjiva, and Capital IQ Pro.
• Review and validate KYC and EDD documentation for clients and transactions.
• Conduct risk‑based testing, CDD reviews, and generate compliance reports.
• Maintain the Daily Transaction Monitoring Excel sheet and promptly flag any concerns.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of compliance experience, preferably in fintech or financial services.
• Fluency in written and spoken French.
• Strong analytical, research, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with compliance platforms: ComplyAdvantage, BankFocus, Orbis, Panjiva, Capital IQ Pro.
• Advanced Excel for transaction monitoring and reporting.
