Forex Accountant – Retail Finance

About the role

Our client, a leading fashion retailer in Cape Town, is seeking a dedicated Forex Accountant to join the Finance Team. The role is fully onsite and focuses on managing the company’s foreign exchange function, ensuring compliance, accurate reporting, and strategic forecasting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with the Group forex policy.
• Execute and record forward cover purchases and settlements.
• Prepare monthly and ad‑hoc reports on forward cover positions.
• Perform quarterly hedge accounting, including tax calculations.
• Communicate exchange rates promptly and update all relevant systems.
• Forecast forex impact on income statements and cash‑flow accounts.
• Budget currency differences for the annual budget.

Required profile

• B.Comm or equivalent financial qualification (B.Comm Hons or CIMA preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Retail experience and prior forex management are advantageous.
