Fire Systems Engineer (Integrated Fire Systems Specialist)

About the role

Fidelity Services Group is looking for an Integrated Fire Systems Engineer (Specialist) to source and generate business, mainly in Fire Detection and Gas Suppression solutions and their service and maintenance. The role covers sales of Fire Detection, Gas Suppression, Servicing & Maintenance and Remote Monitoring contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop sales opportunities through extensive cold calling, targeting the commercial, mining and industrial sectors
• Achieve sales targets at approved margins
• Prepare quotes and proposals
• Manage accounts, build pipeline and forecasts, and act as technical liaison on installations
• Read drawings and apply compliant solutions
• Manage own deliverables, scope and time, and work in a dynamic team
• Travel flexibly within South Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and abroad when required

Required profile

• At least 5 years of integrated system sales experience in the fire industry
• Sales experience at management level with a proven track record
• SAQCC registration; FDIA design qualification (commissioning is an advantage)
• Security industry sales experience is an advantage
• Experience of fire risk assessments, audits and due diligence inspections of existing buildings
• Reliable transport, valid driver's licence and valid passport

Required skills

• Working knowledge of SANS10139, SANS322, SANS246, SANS1475, SANS369-1 and SANS369-2
• Knowledge of fire alarm systems, gas suppression systems, portables and servicing and maintenance requirements
• Computer literacy (MS Office)
• Excellent report writing, communication and presentation skills
