Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst (FP&A)

About the role

We are a fast‑growing financial services organisation seeking a commercially‑minded Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our Finance team in Cape Town. You will turn complex data into actionable insights that shape strategic decisions across Finance, Product and Business units.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning.
• Analyse financial and operational data to spot trends, risks and commercial opportunities.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Produce management reports, dashboards and financial analysis for senior stakeholders.
• Partner with Finance, Product and other business units to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Present financial information clearly and visually to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Assist commercial decision‑making with data‑driven recommendations.
• Contribute to automation and enhancement of reporting processes and models.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in FP&A, Commercial Finance or Financial Analysis within a financial services provider.
• Strong ability to communicate complex financial information to diverse stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (complex modelling, Pivot Tables, VBA).
• Experience with Databricks or similar data analytics/visualisation tools.
• Practical SQL for querying and analysing large data sets.
• Proven financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting expertise.
