Financial Manager - Shopfitting and Installation Company

About the role

An established and growing company specialising in shop fitting, installations and the manufacture of customised products is seeking a Financial Manager in Johannesburg. The role suits a financially minded professional with 1-3 years of relevant experience who wants to own the company's financial administration, reporting and day-to-day financial operations. The salary is R50,000 CTC per month.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger entries.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Assist with budgeting, financial planning and monitoring expenditure against budgets.
• Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements and customer accounts.
• Manage invoicing, payments, collections and supplier transactions.
• Monitor project costs, production expenses and installation-related expenditure.
• Assist with month-end and year-end procedures and ensure accurate financial records.
• Monitor cash flow and flag potential risks or discrepancies.
• Assist with VAT submissions, tax documentation and statutory compliance.
• Work with management and operational teams on financial information and identify improvements to financial processes.

Required profile

• 1-3 years of financial management, accounting or finance experience.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Excellent organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritise and work independently.
• Strong communication skills and a professional approach with management, suppliers and clients.

Required skills

• Practical experience with Xero and Sage is essential.
• A relevant finance or accounting qualification is advantageous.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial data.
