Financial Controller – Luxury Lodge (Paterson)

About the role

This position offers an experienced finance professional the chance to lead financial operations at a luxury private game reserve in Paterson, Eastern Cape. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will ensure financial integrity while balancing strategic oversight with day‑to‑day operational responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management reports, reconciliations and financial analyses.
• Support annual budgeting and re‑forecasting processes.
• Manage banking functions, cash flow and payment preparations.
• Prepare journals, accruals and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure VAT compliance and statutory reporting requirements.
• Monitor accounts payable, receivable and operational costs.
• Oversee stock control and purchasing processes.
• Support audit preparations and internal control procedures.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of progressive finance experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of financial systems (ERP).
