Financial Controller – Lead Finance Operations

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the Group’s full finance function. Reporting to the Cluster Finance Director, you will oversee day‑to‑day finance operations, drive reporting and controls, and provide insight to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and manage month‑end and year‑end deliverables.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to support business decision‑making.
• Implement and monitor financial controls, ensuring compliance with group policies, statutory requirements and regulatory returns.
• Review and approve month‑end journals, general ledger reconciliations and produce accurate internal and external reports.
• Manage internal and external audits, SARS queries and ad‑hoc financial reporting.
• Improve financial processes, systems and reporting efficiency.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team, setting clear responsibilities and performance objectives.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors and SARS.

Required profile

• CA(SA) preferred or B.Com with completed articles.
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing a full financial function.
• 5+ years in a senior accounting or financial management role.
• Proven experience leading finance teams and operations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
