Financial Accountant – R800k – Midrand

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join a large, diversified group operating across South Africa and the Sub‑Saharan market. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, analysing and reporting financial information that supports strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse financial statements and key performance indicators.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies and maintain data integrity.
• Assist in budget development, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee fixed‑asset records.
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions.
• Calculate, report and remit VAT and other statutory taxes.
• Assist with external audit preparation and respond to audit queries.

Required profile

• SAIPA articles completed.
• At least four years of financial accounting experience after articles.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with various departments.
