Finance Director – Africa (Heavy Equipment, Construction, Mining, Agriculture)

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Director to join the Executive Leadership Team of a leading international industrial group operating across heavy equipment, construction, mining and agriculture in Africa. Reporting to the CEO and Group CFO, you will provide strategic financial leadership and act as a trusted advisor to drive growth and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership across a complex multi‑site business.
• Partner with the CEO and executive team to support commercial decision‑making and business growth.
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting.
• Optimise working capital, cash flow, inventory and capital investment.
• Drive profitability through commercial insight and robust financial analysis.
• Ensure strong governance, risk management and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
• Lead treasury, taxation, banking relationships and external audits.
• Drive SAP optimisation, process improvement and business transformation initiatives.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing regional finance team.

Required profile

• Proven track record of leading finance in complex, asset‑intensive businesses.
• Strong commercial finance and business partnering experience.
• Experience managing working capital, inventory, treasury and business performance.
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and international financial reporting.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• International or multi‑country experience, particularly across Africa or emerging markets, is highly regarded.
