Junior Trust Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a meticulous and proactive Junior Trust Accountant to join our wealth management team. You will support the financial operations of trust and client entities, ensuring accurate records, statutory compliance, and smooth month‑end close processes. This role offers a solid foundation for a career in financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close process, preparing management accounts, journals and reconciliations.
• Prepare balance‑sheet, general‑ledger and bank reconciliations, investigating variances.
• Submit VAT calculations, reconciliations and returns, ensuring timely payments.
• Perform multi‑currency bank reconciliations and monitor debtor balances.
• Assist in annual budgeting and liaise with department heads.
• Support audit preparation and respond to internal and external audit queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance within wealth management, trust services or financial services.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or Pastel.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables).
