Field Service Technician - Crushing Equipment

About the role

Sandvik Mining supplies equipment, tools, parts, service and technical solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries, including rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunnelling and quarrying. As a Field Service Technician you will get customer satisfaction by installing, repairing, inspecting and commissioning equipment, while solving operational and process problems and supporting the sales team and prospective customers.

Key responsibilities

• Perform breakdown repairs and fault finding on Sandvik crushing and screening equipment
• Conduct planned maintenance, inspections and condition assessments
• Support equipment commissioning and installation
• Complete technical reports and service documentation
• Provide technical support to customers on site and remotely
• Carry out root cause investigations and recommend corrective actions
• Assist customers with maintenance planning and best practices
• Deliver operator and maintenance training
• Support parts identification and recommendations
• Maintain a high standard of safety and compliance with mine and company requirements

Required profile

• Qualified N6 Millwright, Mechanical Fitter or equivalent trade qualification
• Valid clean driver's licence and ability to obtain medical fitness certification for mine sites
• Minimum 5 years' experience on cone crushers, jaw crushers, screens, feeders and related crushing equipment
• Experience with Sandvik Mobiles and Static Crushers (CH, CS, CJ, QA, QE, QJ) is advantageous
• Experience on mine sites and in remote locations
• Willingness to travel extensively and to train and mentor customer personnel

Required skills

• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and reporting systems)
• Crusher assembly and disassembly, component replacement, hydroset and lubrication systems
• ACS and automation systems, mechanical and hydraulic fault finding
• Reading schematic drawings, technical drawings and manuals
• Condition monitoring, inspections and root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
• PLC experience is a distinct advantage
