Field Service Leader SSA

About the role

This role leads field services activities for the region and is responsible for staffing, training and development of the field service workforce to support outage and field service activities. It covers KPI reporting, cost management, resource deployment, outage end-to-end success, safety leadership, tooling and support for the growth of field services. The position is based in Johannesburg.

Key responsibilities

• Lead field resource management with the On Site Service Leader, Field Service Coordinator and Logistics Coordinator.
• Implement operation safety policy, comply with OSHA and applicable regulations, and promote good safety practices.
• Collaborate with the Steam Power Sourcing team to identify and develop internal and external strategic partners.
• Train team members on processes, tools and methods so they can support field services in the region.
• Plan outages and resource needs for business planning and KPIs, and oversee customer fulfillment (billing, cost tracking, project controls, PR and PO processing).
• Oversee outage readiness and closeout, and ensure readiness to serve and emergent response readiness.
• Develop and deliver business plans for service line opportunities and align with global strategy through regional teams.
• Manage daily operations, including holiday, weekend and overtime work as required by field assignments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• At least 10 years of steam power experience, including at least 5 years in staffing and training.
• Knowledge of the Steam Turbine/Generator Eskom fleet.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• English proficiency required.
