About the role
Alfa Laval South Africa is looking for a passionate and eager Fitter & Turner or Millwright intern for its Service Operation Division in the Middle East & Africa region. The position is based in the Service Centre in Johannesburg and offers hands-on experience in repairs, problem resolution and workshop operations.
Key responsibilities
- Execute repairs according to specifications or advanced repair tasks
- Be engaged in problem resolution
- Suggest improvements for products and working procedures
- Take part in 5S, safety and quality activities
- Minimise the number of workshop hours
- Develop and inform yourself
- Assist service centre technicians with their daily tasks
- Ensure housekeeping
Required profile
- Graduate trade or Red Seal in Millwright or Fitting and Turning
- Knowledge of HSEQ regulations
- Driver's licence
Required skills
- Knowledge of MS Office
- Crane operation
- Forklift operation
- Experience with rotating equipment
- Planning and organising, good communication, attention to detail, problem solving, following SOPs and dedication to safety
