Field Service Engineer

About the role

Join TOMRA Food’s dynamic field service team as a Field Service Engineer. You will ensure the reliable operation of cutting‑edge food sorting systems, providing on‑site and remote support to industrial customers across South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Commission, test, integrate, optimise and maintain food sorting equipment.
• Respond promptly to equipment and customer issues, both on‑site and remotely.
• Prepare detailed field reports after each installation or technical intervention.
• Deliver training sessions for customers’ maintenance and service personnel.
• Travel up to 80% of the time, primarily within South Africa, with occasional international trips.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrotechnical, Automation, Industrial Maintenance or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in on‑site preventive and corrective maintenance for industrial customers.
• Familiarity with food‑industry sorting technologies is a strong advantage.
• Good understanding of IT, networking and PC configuration.
• Valid driver’s licence and active driving experience.
• Excellent English communication skills; Afrikaans or other languages are a plus.
