FET Chemistry Teacher – Secondary School (Ruimsig)

About the role

Nova Pioneer is seeking an enthusiastic FET Chemistry teacher for its senior grades at the Ruimsig Secondary School campus. The role involves delivering enquiry‑based, real‑world chemistry lessons that align with the South African curriculum and inspire students to become innovative thinkers.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, enquiry‑based chemistry lessons that meet national curriculum standards.
• Maintain a positive, professional relationship with students, families and colleagues.
• Create a well‑organized, developmentally appropriate classroom environment that promotes active learning.
• Integrate interactive technology to enhance instructional delivery.
• Assess student progress, set ambitious goals and provide constructive feedback.
• Support and mentor apprentice teachers as part of the resident teacher model.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor of Education degree in Teaching.
• Minimum of 3 years experience teaching chemistry at secondary level.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Flexibility and openness to change, with ability to handle uncertainty.
• Proactive problem‑solving attitude and willingness to embrace feedback.
