Fabrication Workshop Manager – Rustenburg

About the role

Our client, a leading heavy‑steel construction company, is urgently looking for an experienced Fabrication Workshop Manager to lead the SMPP workshop in Rustenburg. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient production, high‑quality output, and safe workshop operations.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily workshop activities, including production planning, workflow management and job allocation.
• Manage structural, mechanical, platework and piping fabrication, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and QA/QC standards.
• Lead a team of artisans, welders and boilermakers, handling performance management, training and skills development.
• Enforce SHEQ standards, conduct safety inspections and audits, and maintain a safe working environment.
• Liaise with clients, project managers and engineers to provide progress updates and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain workshop documentation, job cards, production reports and monitor material usage, stock levels and procurement needs.

Required profile

• Previous managerial experience in an SMPP workshop or similar heavy‑steel fabrication environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
• Proven ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and manage budgets.
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality control.
