Fabrication Engineer / Draughtsman (Permanent)

About the role

We are looking for a Fabrication Engineer / Draughtsman to join our South African branch in Belville, Cape Town. The role involves converting client drawings into fabrication‑ready 3‑D models, producing detailed shop drawings and supporting on‑site laser scanning activities for large‑scale projects across the energy and industrial sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Create fabrication‑ready 3‑D models from client drawings and specifications.
• Generate shop detail drawings, DXF files, cutting lists and other deliverables from the models.
• Collaborate with project managers to define modelling requirements.
• Perform on‑site laser scanning, merge and clean scan data for integration into models.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure models meet quality standards.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in 3‑D modelling and draughting.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
