Experienced Theatre Scrub Nurse

About the role

Zamokuhle Private Hospital, advertised through Lenmed, is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse for its Theatre department. The nurse provides safe, cost-effective patient care in line with hospital standards and policies, and delivers direct and/or indirect nursing care to patients or groups of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in line with the Scope of Practice and take full responsibility for it
• Contribute to the holistic care of patients
• Attend shift handover reports at the start of each shift
• Communicate effectively with patients about their care and promote their health and wellbeing
• Audit health records to ensure compliance
• Keep stock well controlled, managed, charged and credited correctly
• Maintain good relations with patients, relatives and visitors

Required profile

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse or Midwife
• At least 2 years of relevant theatre scrub nurse experience
• Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts, including on-call duty during weekdays and weekends
• Ability to uphold health practice standards required by accredited bodies and health legislation
• Valid driving licence is an advantage; theatre technique is an advantage
