Experienced Payroll Tax Manager – Lead Global Payroll Tax Department

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Tax Manager to lead and coordinate our global payroll tax department. This senior leadership position is responsible for developing tax payroll strategy, ensuring full regulatory compliance across multiple countries, and managing a team that delivers accurate and confidential payroll tax operations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the end‑to‑end payroll tax process across all jurisdictions, maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of each country’s tax systems.
• Create and populate payroll tax files, applying CBA, union and tax authority guidelines.
• Develop, update and audit payroll tax policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure legislative compliance.
• Oversee month‑end payroll tax processing, statutory submissions, accruals and reporting.
• Identify and recommend improvements to payroll systems, software and processes.
• Manage internal and external payroll tax reporting requirements and ensure timely payments to creditors and payroll partners.
• Support cash‑flow management, projections and complex Excel‑based calculations.
• Lead and develop direct reports within the tax payroll department, maintaining strict confidentiality.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years hands‑on experience in international payroll tax compliance and multi‑country payroll operations.
• Strong knowledge of cross‑border tax regulations, tax treaties, totalisation agreements and expatriate tax issues.
• Proven experience managing relationships with in‑country payroll providers, tax authorities and external consultants.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (complex calculations, data analysis).
• Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, Payspace and Numbrs.
• Familiarity with tax compliance software and statutory reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
