Executive Housekeeper

About the role

The Executive Housekeeper leads the housekeeping department at Jozini Tiger Lodge & Spa, ensuring the property maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and guest satisfaction. This senior role coordinates with Front Office, Maintenance, Finance and Purchasing to deliver a seamless, welcoming environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily housekeeping operations across guest rooms, public areas, employee locker rooms and back‑of‑house spaces.
• Plan work schedules, allocate duties and adjust staffing levels based on occupancy forecasts.
• Conduct daily inspections of rooms and public areas to verify compliance with company standards.
• Audit housekeeping assignments, identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance with the Maintenance team and respond promptly to guest requests.
• Develop, implement and maintain housekeeping procedures, checklists, manuals and quality‑control measures.
• Recruit, train, coach and motivate housekeeping staff, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing housekeeping teams in a hotel, lodge or resort setting.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of housekeeping standards, procedures and quality control.
• Familiarity with inventory and stock management for housekeeping supplies.
• Competence in scheduling and workforce planning.
