Entry to Mid-Level Cloud & SOC Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Engineer to join our high‑performing technical team in Century City, Cape Town. The role blends cloud infrastructure work with security operations centre (SOC) responsibilities, supporting both remote and onsite client environments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote and onsite technical support with urgency and professionalism.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure network and cloud solutions.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues, performing root‑cause analysis and long‑term fixes.
• Build trusted relationships with clients through excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with internal teams on strategic technical projects and contribute to after‑hours standby roster.

Required skills

• Microsoft Server & Workstation OS (Hyper‑V essential)
• LAN/WAN networking, routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS
• Network monitoring and remote management tools
• Virtualisation: VMware (advantageous), Microsoft Hyper‑V
• Storage: SAN / vSAN experience
• Server hardware and storage infrastructure
• Microsoft 365 and Azure (essential); AWS and Google Cloud Platform (advantageous)
• IT security, compliance, data‑protection principles and incident response
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations such as POPIA, GDPR, ISO standards
