Enterprise Architect

About the role

A global investment advisory firm focused on long-term value creation is hiring an Enterprise Architect in Cape Town, advertised by recruiter Parvana. The role acts as the architectural subject matter expert and coach for an embedded business domain, bridging strategic objectives with executable solution designs. The position is permanent and hybrid, with the option to work in the office daily.

Key responsibilities

• Design resilient integration patterns, focusing on APIs, event-driven architectures and cloud middleware, to connect upstream and downstream systems cleanly.
• Translate enterprise guardrails into practical delivery models that balance rapid execution with long-term architectural health.
• Partner with Finance, Technology, Security and Data teams to turn functional requirements into clear, implementable technical designs.
• Help shape data migration, security and governance strategies to ensure auditability, data quality and regulatory compliance.
• Support delivery teams through design, build, test and deployment, resolving architectural risks and keeping work aligned.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification beneficial (Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.).
• 7+ years of experience designing enterprise-scale solutions in complex IT environments.
• Understanding of security, risk and compliance requirements in financial, investment or highly regulated industries.
• Ability to influence stakeholders, coach delivery teams and navigate complex technical landscapes.

Required skills

• REST APIs, event-driven architecture and middleware.
• Cloud architecture, with a specific focus on Microsoft Azure.
• Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and ArchiMate.
