Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary - Cardiology Theatre

About the role

Mediclinic Vergelegen in Somerset West is recruiting one Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for its Cardiology Theatre. This is a permanent, on-site position where the nurse delivers safe, basic nursing care according to the Scope of Practice, working alongside the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver basic nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Identify, prevent and report risks to ensure patient safety
• Assist in creating a therapeutic environment that supports a positive patient experience
• Keep accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions
• Help create a learning environment that builds staff competence
• Ensure all used stock and equipment are accurately charted

Required profile

• Essential: Higher certificate in nursing (or equivalent); no experience required
• Desired: 1 year of post-qualification experience
• Desired: CPD courses in specific specialty areas
• Preference given in line with the Employment Equity Plan, as well as to internal applicants who meet the minimum requirements

Required skills

• Infection prevention and control
• Basic Life Support
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
• Knowledge of the Scope of Practice regulations for nurses and midwives and relevant nursing legislation
• Nursing procedures, patient observation and risk identification
