Engineering Manager – FMCG/Pharmaceutical

About the role

The company seeks an Engineering Manager to ensure continuous, reliable operation of all utilities, facilities and production equipment at the Aeroton site. You will lead engineering initiatives that drive production efficiency, OEE, product quality and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain 24/7 availability of production equipment and utilities, monitor OEE, uptime and intervene to resolve bottlenecks.
• Own operation and reliability of core site utilities such as steam boilers, compressed air, chilled water, HVAC, pharmaceutical water systems and electrical distribution.
• Develop and execute preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes using CMMS, and implement condition‑based techniques.
• Plan and lead major shutdowns, turnarounds and capital projects, including scope definition, CAPEX justification, vendor management and commissioning.
• Ensure engineering activities meet SAHPRA/GMP compliance, maintain equipment qualification, calibration and validation documentation.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in an engineering environment within FMCG or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong track record of managing capital projects, maintenance strategies and utility systems.
• Ability to develop and mentor a skilled engineering team with succession planning.
