Engineering Maintenance Foreman

About the role

The Engineering Maintenance Foreman provides tactical guidance to a team of artisans, ensuring proactive and reactive maintenance is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legal and SHEQ standards. This role is central to maintaining equipment availability and supporting continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee sub‑ordinates, coordinate and execute maintenance activities to guarantee equipment uptime and legal compliance.
• Manage cost control, budget compilation and alignment of engineering strategies to optimise expenses.
• Supervise work in progress and final inspections to ensure adherence to project plans, specifications and workmanship standards.
• Maintain workshop housekeeping, tool condition and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance performance.
• Lead safety, health, environment and risk control activities, including participation in SHEQ management systems.
• Identify training needs, conduct practical coaching and ensure all artisans are suitably skilled.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supervising maintenance teams in an industrial environment.
• Working knowledge of maintenance strategies, root cause analysis and Reliability‑Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
• Familiarity with SHEQ standards, legislation and Fatal Risk Control Protocols.
• Ability to manage budgets, compile cost reports and drive engineering excellence.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
