Director: ICT Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance Strategy

About the role

The Government Printing Works (GPW) is recruiting a Director for ICT Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance Strategy based in Pretoria. The post covers the design and implementation of ICT security, governance and risk controls, the alignment of ICT strategy with the business strategy, and the oversight of IT services support and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the design and implementation of infrastructure architecture, including its enforcement, refinement and evaluation against technology trends and market developments.
• Safeguard information assets by defining access privileges, controlling structures and resources, and by building firewalls into networks and data centres while monitoring for attacks and intrusions.
• Carry out periodic IT audits to identify security violations and inefficiencies, and implement security improvements.
• Design and define the IT strategy and ICT service continuity, and build ICT governance controls.
• Implement corporate governance of ICT and align the ICT strategy with the business strategy.
• Oversee IT service support and operations, including incident management, request fulfilment, performance reporting, device acquisition and user account standardisation.
• Develop the Directorate's operational plan, allocate and manage resources, formulate policy amendments, conduct financial planning and monitor performance.

Required profile

• A Grade 12 plus a degree (NQF 7) in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Information.
• At least 5 years of middle/senior level (Deputy Director) experience in an ICT environment.
• Valid driver's licence; travel and extended working hours are required.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of the GITO Requirements and Frameworks, the State Information Technology Agency Act 88 of 1998, the Public Service Regulatory Framework and the Minimum Information Security Standards (ISO 17799).
• Knowledge of the Public Service Regulatory Framework, corporate governance principles and human resources legislation.
• Added advantage: CCNA, CompTIA Server+, COBIT 5, ITIL, King III or IV, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, TOGAF and other information security certifications.
