Director: ICT Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance

About the role

The General and Public Works Department (GPW) is recruiting a Director for ICT Security, Governance, Risk and Compliance based in Pretoria. The position carries a salary of R 1 317 384 per annum (Level 13, all-inclusive) and involves managing the department's ICT strategy, security, governance, risk and compliance, as well as overseeing IT support and operations. Key responsibilities

• Manage the design and implementation of infrastructure architecture, including technology evaluation, market trends and changes needed to meet business needs
• Safeguard information assets by defining access privileges and controls, running periodic IT audits, building firewalls into networks and data centres, and monitoring for attacks and intrusions
• Design and define the IT strategy and ICT service continuity, implement ICT governance controls and align ICT strategy with the business strategy
• Manage ICT risk and compliance, and design the Directorate's objectives and operations around the business continuity plan
• Oversee IT service support and operations, including incident management, request fulfilment, performance reporting, device procurement and user account standardisation
• Develop the Directorate's operational plan, allocate resources, formulate policy amendments, conduct financial planning and monitor performance

Required profile

• Grade 12 plus a degree (NQF 7) in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business Information
• At least 5 years' experience at middle or senior level (Deputy Director) in an ICT environment
• Valid driver's licence
• Extended working hours and travel are required

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of the GITO Requirements and Frameworks and the State Information Technology Agency Act 88 of 1998
• Knowledge of the Public Service Regulatory Framework and corporate governance principles
• Understanding of human resources legislation and prescripts
• Preferred: CCNA, CompTIA Server+, COBIT 5, ITIL, information security certifications, King III or IV, project management, CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, TOGAF
