Delivery Centre Capability, Talent & Innovation Lead - South Africa

About the role

SAP Fioneer is looking for a Delivery Centre Capability, Talent & Innovation Lead to play a key role in the strategic growth, capability development and long-term scalability of its South African Delivery Centre (SADC). This is a newly established, cross-functional role combining delivery centre capability development, strategic workforce planning, talent pipeline development, external partnerships and innovation enablement. It works closely with Delivery leadership, Talent/HR, Product and Technology teams to build the people, capabilities, processes and ecosystem needed to make the centre a sustainable, commercially competitive and globally integrated delivery capability.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business growth plans and delivery pipeline expectations into medium- and long-term workforce, capability and capacity requirements, including a scaling roadmap.
• Identify current and future skills needs and partner with the Talent Manager to define role profiles and job descriptions.
• Anchor growing delivery areas with experienced and specialist capabilities that mentor junior staff and build sustainable local expertise.
• Improve resource flexibility and cross-project utilisation, and enable South African resources to contribute to international engagements.
• Develop and refine the talent pipeline, and partner with Talent/HR and the Lift Programme to attract, develop and progress graduates and early-career talent, including internships and university engagement.
• Establish pathways that move emerging talent from onboarding and foundational learning to independently deployable delivery roles, and support a mentoring structure blending graduates, juniors and senior experts.
• Collaborate with HR and local stakeholders on employment, skills development and transformation objectives, including B-BBEE where applicable.
• Maintain the capability framework and development roadmap, including a transparent view of employee skills and capability gaps.
• Build structured onboarding, training, certification and knowledge-transfer pathways, and create opportunities to upskill and cross-skill existing employees.
• Own the innovation and AI roadmap: coordinate the centre's AI adoption plan, spot opportunities to use AI and automation to improve productivity, and evaluate and prioritise initiatives by value and feasibility.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in a technology, consulting, banking technology, software, professional services or delivery environment.
• Demonstrated exposure to several of the listed areas, such as delivery team establishment, strategic workforce planning, graduate programmes, technology programme management, cross-functional initiative management, and innovation, digital transformation or AI adoption.
• Experience working across geographically distributed teams and international delivery environments.
• Experience in enterprise software, financial services technology, banking transformation or related consulting is considered a plus.
