Customer Value Proposition Manager

About the role

This is a high-impact strategic role within First National Bank (FNB) in Johannesburg, focused on the Retail segment's customer value proposition (CVP). It sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, product innovation and customer experience, and requires turning complex data insights into tangible growth. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of value propositions for specific sub-segments of the retail portfolio, driving sustainable growth in acquisition, engagement, profitability and retention.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement tactical CVP strategies for niche markets or sub-segments
• Use advanced analytics, market research and competitor benchmarking to find growth opportunities
• Oversee the lifecycle of propositions, from design through delivery, performance monitoring and optimisation
• Work with Product, Digital, Sales, Marketing, Risk and Operations teams
• Cultivate strategic partnerships that add value to the segment's offering
• Track customer behaviour and management information against key performance indicators
• Manage the financial performance of the segment, including business cases, budgets and return on investment

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Management, Marketing or Economics; an Honours degree is highly advantageous
• 6 to 8 years of professional experience, ideally in Product Management, Proposition Management, Customer Strategy or Digital Banking
• Prior experience managing entry-level or mass-market banking propositions is preferred
• Strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking and stakeholder influence across a large organisation
• High proficiency in data analysis and financial management
• Deep understanding of the South African retail banking landscape

• Total cost-to-company package typically between R900,000 and R1.4 million per year, depending on seniority and track record
