Customer Marketing Manager

About the role

The Customer Marketing Manager will lead the development and execution of customer‑focused marketing strategies for Coca‑Cola Beverages South Africa. Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Department, you will work closely with sales, trade marketing and category teams to drive volume, revenue and market share growth across key channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement customer marketing strategies aligned with channel priorities, shopper insights, RTM objectives and the Annual Business Plan.
• Lead shopper and category initiatives by analysing customer, shopper and market data to identify growth opportunities and optimise assortment.
• Partner with Sales, Trade Marketing, RGM and Key Account teams to create customer business plans, promotional calendars and activation programmes.
• Drive commercial performance through customer‑specific promotions, pricing support, pack‑mix optimisation and activation strategies.
• Analyse customer, category and market performance data to uncover trends, execution gaps and strategic interventions.
• Govern customer marketing campaigns, trade activations and promotional programmes to ensure brand alignment and ROI.
• Manage budgets and trade investment, ensuring financial compliance and effective return on investment.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners including Supply Chain, Finance and external customers to align strategies and improve execution quality.
• Lead, coach and develop Customer Category Specialists, fostering analytical capability and team performance.
• Promote continuous improvement and innovation in customer marketing initiatives.

Required profile

• Seasoned professional with proven experience in customer marketing, category management or shopper insights.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to translate data into actionable commercial plans.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across sales, trade marketing and finance functions.
• Leadership experience in coaching and developing junior team members.
