Critical Care Registered Nurse – Mpumalanga

About the role

Join a leading private hospital in Mpumalanga as a Critical Care Qualified Registered Nurse. You will provide high‑quality, evidence‑based care to critically ill patients in a fast‑paced ICU environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive critical‑care nursing in the ICU, following hospital policies and best‑practice standards.
• Perform continuous patient assessments, monitor vital signs, arterial blood gases, ECG rhythms and respond promptly to clinical changes.
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment such as mechanical ventilators, invasive monitoring devices, infusion pumps and renal replacement therapy machines.
• Administer prescribed medications, IV therapies, inotropes, sedatives, analgesics and blood products safely.
• Assist with emergency procedures, resuscitations, intubations, central line insertions and other critical interventions.
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to infection‑prevention, patient‑safety and quality‑assurance protocols.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and families, and participate in discharge planning.
• Mentor junior nursing staff and support continuous professional development.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with critical‑care qualification and ICU experience.
• Strong clinical expertise and ability to work under high pressure.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
