Cost Estimator – Brackenfell, Cape Town

About the role

Our client is looking for a skilled Cost Estimator to join their team in Brackenfell, Cape Town. You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing project documentation and ensuring bids are competitive and profitable.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse project plans, blueprints and technical documents to produce precise cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Determine material, labour, equipment and time requirements for each project.
• Research and maintain up‑to‑date pricing information for materials, equipment and labour.
• Prepare and present detailed, organised cost estimate reports.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
• Monitor project costs and report on budget adherence throughout execution.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotations for accuracy and competitiveness.
• Assist with bid preparation and submission for potential projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Cost Estimator, preferably in sheet metal, construction or manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and mathematical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations and material standards is a plus.
