Control & Instrumentation Technician – Plant

About the role

Kumba Iron Ore is seeking a Control & Instrumentation (C&I) Technician to ensure the reliability and efficiency of its plant instrumentation and control systems. You will work on a high‑grade iron ore operation, supporting safe and optimal production.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, calibrate and maintain sensors, transmitters, controllers and final control elements.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose instrumentation faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Perform calibration of measurement devices to maintain accuracy.
• Repair or replace faulty instrumentation components and re‑program controllers as needed.
• Program and configure control systems to meet process objectives, adjusting parameters and set‑points.
• Maintain accurate records of calibrations, repairs and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to integrate instrumentation with plant processes.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience with industrial instrumentation and control systems.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
