Reliability Engineer HME Load & Haul

About the role

The Reliability Engineer will advise on HME equipment reliability and drive improvement programmes to ensure safe operation and effective maintenance of critical mining assets. You will work closely with maintenance, operations and engineering teams to embed reliability thinking across the plant.

Key responsibilities

• Apply safety and health principles in all interactions, aiming for zero harm.
• Develop and maintain reliability block models of plant and equipment.
• Conduct RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Supportability) analyses and recommend improvement opportunities.
• Review asset registers, assess criticality, and update asset tactics as maintenance plans in SAP.
• Provide 12‑month forecasts for CAPEX and OPEX budgets based on asset tactics.
• Refine equipment lifecycle cost models and identify cost‑saving reliability actions.
• Maintain a 5‑year critical asset replacement plan to feed the long‑term CAPEX budget.
• Support operational readiness for new assets and manage shutdown service strategies.

Required profile

• Strong background in reliability engineering within heavy‑industry or mining environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work safely and influence safety culture.
• Experience with asset criticality assessment and maintenance planning.
• Proficiency in budgeting and forecasting for capital and operational expenditures.
