Grade 2 Mining Equipment Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Grade 2 Mining Operator to safely operate mining equipment and vehicles at our high‑grade iron ore operations. The role supports the achievement of production targets while adhering to strict safety and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and control mining equipment and vehicles to transport materials, components and equipment according to operational plans.
• Conduct pre‑shift and walk‑around inspections, report any defects and ensure equipment is fit for use.
• Follow SHE standards, legislation and work instructions; attend safety meetings and actively participate in SLAM/HIRA processes.
• Communicate with mine personnel to coordinate safe movements and loading of production areas.
• Support supervisors and co‑workers, participate in training and comply with industry standards.
• Respond to emergencies following established protocols.

Required profile

• Commitment to safety and ability to identify hazards and deviations.
• Willingness to follow instructions, sign work documents and attend safety briefings.
• Ability to work collaboratively with operators, supervisors and maintenance teams.
• Physical fitness to perform equipment inspections and assist in loading tasks.

Required skills

• Safe operation of mining equipment and vehicles.
• Conducting equipment inspections and reporting defects.
• Understanding of SLAM, HIRA and basic risk assessment procedures.
