Clinical Nurse (R/N) – PB Qualified – 12‑Month CTICU Role

About the role

The Clinical Nurse (R/N) will provide person‑centred, holistic care within the Cardiac‑Thoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) at Netcare Olivedale Hospital. This 12‑month position requires a qualified professional who can assess, plan and implement advanced nursing interventions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, their families and the wider community.
• Act as a clinical resource, supporting staff in assessment, planning, implementation and documentation of care.
• Facilitate clear communication between patients, families, and health professionals, advocating for optimal patient outcomes.
• Coordinate with nursing management to resolve patient‑care issues promptly.
• Initiate and manage emergency treatment (RESUS) across the hospital as required.
• Conduct thorough patient and family interviews to gather relevant clinical information.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (R/N) qualification with a valid practice license.
• PB (Patient Blood) qualification.
• Experience in a high‑acuity critical care environment, preferably CTICU.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and advocacy skills.

Required skills

• RESUS (resuscitation) competency.
