Clinical Facilitator (Hospital Academic Staff)

About the role

The Clinical Facilitator joins Netcare Unitas Hospital to support the Hospital Based Academic Staff programme. In this role you will guide nursing students through their theoretical and clinical learning, ensuring a seamless integration of classroom knowledge with hands‑on patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate teaching and learning of both theoretical and clinical components in a nursing environment.
• Provide up‑to‑date nursing education, evaluate student performance, and offer support during clinical placements.
• Establish and maintain partnerships between hospital clinical teams and Netcare Education to continuously improve nursing standards.
• Participate in research activities, develop evaluation strategies, and encourage student involvement in research within their scope of practice.
• Implement accreditation standards and ensure compliance with health legislation.
• Prepare work‑integrated learning placement rosters, monitor student hours, leave and performance.
• Facilitate marking of case studies and assignments, load clinical assessment results, and maintain accurate student records in the Learner Management System (LMS).
• Plan and contribute to academic committee projects and quality‑improvement programmes.

Required profile

• Experience in clinical nursing education and student supervision.
• Ability to apply adult learning methodologies and presentation techniques.
• Strong organisational skills for roster planning and performance monitoring.
• Commitment to research, quality improvement and accreditation processes.

Required skills

• Learner Management System (LMS) usage.
