Chief Operating Officer – New Bank Launch

About the role

An exciting opportunity awaits a COO ready to lead the launch of the country’s newest bank, combining digital banking with a broad physical retail network. You will ensure enterprise and operational readiness ahead of the planned 2027 launch and build a scalable operating model for sustained growth.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver agreed strategic priorities and achieve enterprise execution milestones.
• Ensure launch readiness by meeting 2027 readiness milestones and enterprise readiness targets.
• Design, optimise and automate processes to improve operating model effectiveness and scalability.
• Monitor and achieve KPIs, SLAs and operational performance targets.
• Manage operational risk exposures, resolve incidents and control weaknesses promptly.
• Oversee financial delivery against the operational budget, driving cost efficiency and productivity.

Required profile

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience with significant operational and/or enterprise leadership.
• 5+ years in senior management or executive roles, preferably on an Executive Committee or Board.
• Proven track record designing, implementing or transforming operating models in regulated financial services, fintech or payments.
• Experience leading enterprise or operational readiness for major product or business launches.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and third‑party dependencies.
• Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into measurable execution and business outcomes.
