Financial Controller

About the role

COFCO International South Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for an experienced and dynamic Financial Controller to oversee the financial functions within our Corporate Control division. This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting while supporting best practices in accounting and financial management across all operations.

Key responsibilities

• Financial month‑end reporting and reviews, including revaluation and translation.
• Managing Selling, General and Admin (SGA) activities, payroll journals and the annual budget.
• Coordinating internal and external audits.
• Overseeing fixed assets, insurance, annual CAPEX budgeting and lease accounting.
• Leading and training the finance team.
• Conducting VAT reviews and submissions.
• Implementing systems and automation improvements.
• Managing risk, SOPs and related controls.
• Processing payments, journal approvals, hedging instructions, broker and bank reconciliations, and treasury cash and debt reporting.
• Providing backup support to the Reporting Controller.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification or studying towards CIMA, CA or ACCA.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar financial controller role.
• At least 2 years of leadership or people‑management experience.

Required skills

• SAP S/4HANA.
• SAP BPC.
